Dogs know that your bed is the most intimate place of yours, it smells most like you. When a dog pees on your bed, it is pretending to pee on you. It means that he is VERY mad at you. My dog went through this at a time when we were moving a lot, 3 times in 4 years. I just closed the bedroom door, and put lots of boxes and "stuff" on the furniture when I left so she wouldn't pee on stuff. She got over it when she figured out that I always came home.

Is he neutered? Is he used to being able to go outside instead of you being gone? It sounds like he's marking his territory. Neutering if not already and putting him in a crate when you aren't home.

He probably has seperation anxiety. You should get ready to go, leave, and come back in a few minutes later. Do this a few times, and start increasing the time you're gone. Eventually, he'll get used to it. Also, treats will help him with forgetting you're gone.

I would crate train him if I were you. But if you dont want to do that, then make sure you spend time with him before you go. Take him for a walk, let him relieve himself, then take him inside, give him a bone and leave. Make sure you limit his water while you are gone. If you are gone a short time, just take the water away while you are gone. Otherwise, just give him a small bowl. When you return each time praise him for being a good boy. This way, he will look forward to you returning each time.

If it is happening when you leave him it is because your dog has anxiety disorder and you can get pills to cure that while you are gone. I don't give my dogs pills for it because I don't believe in medicating them.

I have 2 Carin terriors (4 dogs total) that we put in a crate when we leave. If we don't they pee all over the house while we are gone. They never do it when we are home.
