All of them at wal-mart and pet-co are cheap. I want a good sturdy material that will be easy to wipe down like microfiber or leather.

Believe it or not, Tractor Supply has some great dog beds at a reasonable price.

Have you tried one of the pet stores like Petco or Petsmart? I've got an x-large one for my great dane. It has the zipper so I can wash it.

you could always make your own.. go to joanne fabrics or something. it wouldn't be that difficult i bet. plus you'll be putting all the love into making it perfect how you want it unlike petco where a bunch of chinese people made them bc they want money.

    Petedge http://www.petedge.com/home.jsp
is a good place to start. They are wholesale and sell to kennels, groomers, etc. so the prices are pretty good—but the shipping can be $$.

Look through their site and you may find a few other things you can use. They have a few stores around the country–if you are close you can pick things up there instead of shipping.

I think it is interesting when I see something online at Petedge for one price and then see a display of them in a store for a LOT more.

I recommend getting a bed that can be tossed in the wash or the cover washed.

Many years ago I made bigger than King size pillow case out of a denim material. I found a quality piece of solid 4" wide foam that fit inside. It's lasted thru 2 Dobermans. It's easy to clean and hair doesn't stick to it. When I was at a pet store recently I saw a pet bed made with the cheapest material you could practically see thru it and the zipper would just made it more difficult to remove and wash.
