by this i meant wicker, plastic, wood etc etc etc
goos to see there are some jokers playing on here today…………

might sound silly but, we took our newly adopted mini-schnauzer mix Fancy to the pet store with us and my hunny started pulling beds off the shelf onto the floor for her to try out and all of a sudden she disappeared, we looked around calling her name and she had climbed up on a shelf and had stretched out on a huge pillow that would have been big enough for a rottweiler… go figure…. but it's what she wanted!

I like the beds that are circular in shape because it always seems that dogs like to curl up against something, so the side is nice for them to curl up with. Also, I would get one that has a cover that you can take off and wash. My bed for my lab was $70 and at a pet store. I couldn't find one for her size at walmart, so I think your best bet would be a place like Petco or Petsmart or another pet store around your area.

It may sound silly but how does your dog like to sleep. Does he curl up or stretch out. If he's a curler maybe a large round bed, stretcher a large rectangular. Either way make sure it is nice and thick to get him/her off the ground.

A bed that will be large enough to accommodate your dog but more importantly make sure you can remove the cover to wash weekly. I also take into consideration the color of the bed. Try to get a bed that will hid the fur that your dog sheds. That way the bed always looks clean!

It depends on your dog. I have one Dobe that has a large plastic bed, with a huge duvet inside as she like to sleep curled up. The other Dobe has a large square bed, with sides that let her stretch out all over it if she wants to.

My previous Dobie girl, loved to flop out of a bed similar to the one below.
